We respond to COVID-19 with open source

The role of ICT in the fight against the VID-19 pandemic is proving to be critical. Telecommunications, and especially applications, are clearly helping to control the epidemic, as has been seen in countries such as South Korea and Japan. In Spain, several health administrations are building applications against the clock and making them available to the public and health professionals.

In this context, Ingenia has decided to launch its product eCALLER EPIDEMICS with open source code (GPL v3 license), facilitating health organizations the deployment of applications for the diagnosis and monitoring of COVID-19, thus allowing them to have a vision of the magnitude of the outbreak, establish control measures and avoid congestion in the emergency coordination centers.

Self-diagnosis and geolocation of confirmed cases of COVID-19

With this initiative, an application is made available to the community that is capable of helping in the self-diagnosis, according to the different protocols of action and at the same time geolocating the confirmed cases through a cloud solution.

In addition, health and hygiene advice for prevention and the latest news and communications from official sources are included.

The main advantage of the open source nature of this application is that it can be easily adapted to the needs of each country.

The software, designed to support different languages, in its first version is distributed in Spanish thinking specially in its use in our country and in Latin America. In fact, it includes some of the recommendations of the PAHO (Pan-American Health Organization), an institution linked to the WHO (World Health Organization).
