Ingenia celebrates #GirlsinICT 2019

April 25, 2019

In Ingenia our message is clear: having female talent enriches the professional potential of our company. Every year, the number of women joining our workforce increases by 10%.

Ingenia celebrates #GirlsinICT 2019

Today, April 25, Ingenia joins the celebration of the International Day of Girls in ICTs. This initiative, launched by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), aims to encourage girls and young women to opt for ICT studies and careers, “enabling both girls and technology companies to reap the benefits of greater female participation in this sector”.

Despite the opportunities and experiences that demonstrate the great benefits that women’s potential brings to this sector, today there is still a large gender gap in the number of women opting for a technology-oriented career.

The Telecommunications Union (ITU)* indicates that, in the ICT ecosystem, women and girls are under-represented, not only as users but also as professionals in the IT industry itself.

Ingenia has two basic pillars in its social responsibility (CSR) policy: gender equality and education. Two values that we take care of in our day-to-day life and in our decision making.

Aligned with the objective of #GirlsinICT, Ingenia promotes the approach of the ICT world to girls and young women through our personnel selection policy, favouring the promotion of women to management positions in balance with work-life balance, attending events with our best speakers to raise awareness and professional guidance in the area of technologies.

A special mention goes to our Manuel Rusillo Engineering Award for Excellence, in which we encourage young people to opt for ICT careers and recognize the excellence of their academic records.

That’s why today, we’re heading to the…

The passionate future of the ICT is waiting for you.
